Actual Best Thing Ever for Wedding Video (Cornwall) at The Green – FIRE PERFORMER!

We have probably filmed more weddings at The Green, in Cornwall, than any other venue – but we love it always gives us something new, every single time! On this occassion, Jen and Caz’s wedding had a DOG RING BEARER, an impromptu band made up of friends performing a full set during reception hour, and a FIRE PERFORMER*
The Joy of Smuggling Brides from Preen (at The Green) for Wedding Video Prep

Logistics are a little different with two brides. Two sets of bridesmaids, two sets of hair and make up, two dresses. So the morning at The Green was a little unconventional. Brian Robinson (the photographer, and generally wonderful human) and I had great fun bouncing around the various cottages amid a flurry of activity each time. Jen and Caz both read letters from the other, and both looked incredible in their dresses, while bridesmaids from each group buzzed backwards and forwards to act as messengers (and spies).

A stunning outdoor space, it’s perfect for wedding photo and video. There’s loads of room to set stationary cameras (and they’re so far away from the guests, no one notices them at all!) and more than enough space to move around at the front without being noticed. On this occassion

Against this breathtaking backdrop, Wedding Video Cornwall immortalized the magic of the moment, capturing every glance, every touch, and every heartfelt word. From the sweeping landscapes to the intimate exchanges between the newlyweds, our cameras wove a narrative of love and devotion, preserving the essence of this extraordinary day for eternity.
Wedding Film (Cornwall) Career High Point – DOG RING BEARER!
It was an emotional ceremony, which is just how I like when editing a wedding video. Personal vows, emotional readings, a warm and funny registrar. Under the sunny skies, in the cool breeze of the shade – it was perfect.
And then it went and got even more amazing by having Toby (a very good boi!) as the ring bearer. He waited proudly while his mummies said their vows – and then performed his duty like a champ. He even posed for some photos after the cermeony was done.
*NOTE – If you have a dog at your wedding, I will film hundreds of clips of the wonderful woofer.

Couples Portraits Perfect for Wedding Video, The Green Cornwall
The Green is so great for wedding video couples portraits because there’s just so much natural variety. We went out twice – once while guests were being seated – and took a quick walk to the lawn outside the bridal prep house (Toby joined us for this bit). A quick stroll down the path and we were in the wood, with lovely patches of lights between the trees!

After the meal was finished, just as the sun was setting, we went out again, to the field behind the venue. The light was soft and warm (and the brides had both had a couple of drinks) – no need for instruction from myself or Brian, Caz and Jen just took the chance to enjoy each other’s company, their arms around each other. Ordinarily, we’d have headed to the Barn for a few images with the fairy lights, to finish – but we knew there’d be more than enough great chances for videography when the evening lit up…

Fire Performer for Wedding Film, The Green Cornwall
Sparklers at The Green, Cornwall are always an excellent way to end the evening – the outdoor fairly lights make for a beautiful background in your wedding video. And the fairly narrow space between the barns creates a contained area for the smoke to hang – which catches the light perfectly and makes sparklers film footage just a little bit more special.

Back indoors, Jen and Caz had a mad dancefloor (frame grabs from video are a bit more tricky with that much movement! The shots are epic, but they work so much better in the film). They also had the absolute best photo booth, with Flicks Box! We’ve worked with Phil quite a few times before – the absolute most fun man you could have at your wedding! You can see more from Jen and Caz’s wedding photobooth in this video we cut for Flicks Box 🙂

But it was out on the lawn that the evening ended with a bang! (Well, more of a burn…). The Fire Performer was genuinely breathtaking – myself, and all of the 150 guests watching, were utterly captivated.
Accompanied by a live musical performance (on violin) the show started. Slowly twirling batons with fiery ends – the control was amazing. And then he threw it 30ft in the air! Over the course of 4 minutes, the show built and built, faster and faster, with ever increasing flame. The heat coming from it was immense, even from 8m away. And then just as it looked like we’d reached a crescendo…both ends of each baton erupted with the crackling light of mini catherine wheel type fireworks!
