Stunning coastal weddings – that’s one of the high points of filming weddings in Cornwall and Devon. And Sandy Cove is one of the most beautiful locations we’ve ever had the pleasure of filming at. Set on a coastal cliff-side, it’s an all in one and is completely exclusive.

Advantages for wedding video – Incredible Bride and Groom Prep
We’ve never filmed in a bridal prep room with a better view – not in Devon, or anywhere else for that matter! The room itself is fairly tight – but the balcony looks out onto the ceremony area and the landscape behind it. Going out for letter readings and gift openings can make for some stunning footage (and if you’re getting married at Sandy Cove, you may as well enjoy it as much as you can!)
(On a side note, Jennie had the most amazing bridal shoes!!!!)
Advantages for wedding video – Outside Ceremony
This is our favourite part! Look at it – amazing!!!! A small, intimate ceremony space, with the most dramatic backdrop anyone could want. On approach from the accommodation, brides are given use of a golf buggy to come down the hill (not essential, the walk isn’t far….but why would anyone turn down a golf buggy?!)
Dropped off at the end of the pathway, the bridal party can enjoy the short walk to the arbor. It’s a beautiful walk, and the space means we can get capture the groom watching the approach. In terms of film and photography throughout the rest if the ceremony, making it look nice is easy – but the arbor and open space means we can move as necessary, while staying completely unobtrusive.
Advantages for wedding video – Couples Photos and Beaches
Although Sandy Cove doesn’t have access to its own private beach, it’s a ten minute drive to Ilfracombe. Parking is a bit tricky (although the Mayor of Ilfracombe kindly let us use the space outside her house!). The beach is broken into separate sections by the rocks. so even if it’s busy you should be able to find a quiet area for film and photo.
Advantages for wedding video – Sunset and Party Time
After speeches, the function room gets turned around for reception shenanigans. It’s a lovely room, but what’s even more important is the sunset outside! On the north coast, you get a lot of golden light, which makes the best possible film/photo. There are some really picturesque places within 2 minutes of the room with all the guests, so it’s easy to nip off for a quick 5 minutes and not worry about leaving everyone behind for too long.
